I really enjoyed the guest speaker on Friday. She was easy to listen too. I liked hearing her experience at the Jena 6 march. She seemed to be a very diverse and strong woman. I thought it was an interesting point someone brought up in the class, when they asked her, "Do you have children and did you take them?" I thought this was a good point.
They march had reasoning behind it, with a common theme to people of what they experienced in the past or what the future would be like, depending on this situation. I was surprised she did not take her children. The little one I could understand, but the 12 year old was interested. Seems like it was a tough choice for her, because on one hand you want the child to experience this, but than on the other, the safety of the child. This march could have gone in so many ways. I understood why she did not take her because she was doing work, but it might have been beneficial to the child if she went. I just thought it was a cool point someone brought up. It was neat to hear different reasons why people went to Jena.
