Jena 6

The Jena 6 story, I had heard of a week before it had been brought to news in Dallas. A friend and I,at work, were talkin about some stories I could cover for my feature writing class. He than began to tell me about the Jena 6 incident. I thought it was horrible, and he gave me some websites to look at and read the story. Later on that week or the next I began to see the coverage on the news because of the March in Louisiana.
I think it is strange that this incident happened about a year ago, and was kept pretty quiet. No one really knew about it till the prodominately black community made a stand. I think the incident is horrible, and scary. Scary that racism, to that degree, is still strongly present. I know racism exist, but that incident seemed to be stepping back into the past. I hope our justice system rules fairly in this case. It needs to be made an example of justice. The punishment those boys recieved was crazy. I hope everything get straightened out, because this is opening up a can of worms if the boys are wrongfully punished.
